Politicians Send Ted Kennedy Condolences On Twitter

WASHINGTON (CNN) — While dignitaries from around the world have been revealing their thoughts on the passing of Ted Kennedy, others have taken to Twitter to express their views and feelings in 140 characters. Twitter has been buzzing today with memories and condolences from across the political spectrum:

Missouri Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill: “The lion sleeps. Funny, smart, caring and never afraid to negotiate or compromise. My heart goes out to his family. God Bless Ted Kennedy” 

Virginia Democratic Sen. Mark Warner: “I didn’t know Sen. Kennedy well, but his public service and legacy is an inspiration for all of us in the Senate.”

Florida Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson: “Grace and I came to know Ted and Vicki in his later years in the Senate, and we count it a privilege to have known him.”

Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. Arlen Specter: “Senator Kennedy made historic contributions on civil rights, health care, education, the Judiciary, labor law, immigration,” … “and virtually all facets of life in America. Working with him on the big issues of our era was a real privilege.”
